HerStory "Mack'n" Official Treatment

HerStory “Mack’n” Official Treatment
Executive Producer(s)- Chauncey Gardner/Stephan Small Jr.

Director-J.B. Adkins
Masquerade-Burlesque type feel throughout the
narrative scenes. Masks and makeup similar to this
will be utilized.
Purpose-Visually relay a story of betrayal, ignorance , and romance by way of idiosyncratic ironies, dramatic relevance and sarcastic illustrative trickery.
The Look-Extremely glossy and richly textured colored choices. Royal golds, maroons, and very earthy, primal palettes. Silhouettes are heavily utilized throughout the piece with varying color palettes in order to relay whatever mood the girls are in i.e.[burgundy(love), ruby red(romance) sky orange (frustration), blue (complacency). The only neon we see is featured around the chess pieces [board] and speaker panel. See ex. color tone http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FSkRBCPRf8Q
The Vibe- Sexy-ignorant-complacent-done-relentless-invoking-provacative-imaganitive- this flick will cause all of those who dare to watch to experience heightened emotions opposite in nature at their most organic stages-laughter, wonder, sadness-all elements and structures purposefully incorporated throughout the piece in order to match the tone of the composition itself. The girls are featured throughout their various stages of emotional intellect-laughter/joy, sadness/morbidity, anger/frustration, romance/complacency, wonder/shock-[this is where we incorporate the dramatic irony revolving around our main culprit, “The Boy”].
Fast food scene where Asia and girls clown on the counter
and discover "The Boy's" true revelation.

The lighting and mood will mimic this. Note the shadows and use of soft fresnels splashed
throughout the room.
Same feel as the tungsten
and lighting set-ups in the MASQUERADE scene.
Vibrating speaker cab
with dust coming out at beg. Slow dolly in.
Silhouette of "The Boy" and each of the ladies dancing before
his true identity is revealed.
Mask(s) as worn by the MASQUERADE patrons.
The Video- This is a heavily emotional and analogically narrated piece. Dolly in to a blazing and vibrating speaker panel shaped out of glass and dazzling hickory. We then cut to Asia delivering her verse on the bed in her bedroom as she prepares for the night out. Marissa, Miriah, and Asia are all preparing to leave for the night [curling irons, rollers, mirrors, blow dryers, makeup] out as we cut to their various verses. At the MASQUERADE [NIGHT OUT], we feature a slew of dancers and venue-goers sporting phantom of the opera-like masks [Symbolic representation of the “acting” and superficial aspect of “THE BOY”]. We also feature a silhouette of each of the girls dancing with “The Boy” although we cannot quite make out “The BOY’S” true identity until the lights are turned up and we discover that it has been “THE BOY” playing the girls the entire time.  In the corner of the MASQUERADE a group of individuals are photographed witnessing an intense game of CHESS. This is representative of the game that “The BOY” is running on the HERSTORY trio. NARRATIVE: As the trio prepares for a special night out to the MASQUEARADE party, they are expressing their for thetypical players in which they have been encountering lately. Upon arriving to the MASQUERADE, there is a particular gentleman dubbed “THE BOY” who is a direct representation of the typical players referenced in the previous statement. Each of the girls is having a difficult time deciding whether or not “THE BOY” is an exception to the rule, or the epiphany of all fakers and superficial players. Little does the trio know that “THE BOY”  they are slowly falling in and out of love with, is playing each of them at the very  they thought to have overcome. After the MASQUERADE and various COV scenes, the girls are out to grab a quick bite to eat and discover that “THE BOY” is actually a faker who works at a fast food chain and drives a beat down .  One of the girls jumps on the fast food counter and syncs to the bridge of the song acting as a  climactic element to the video. The very last shot is comprised of a dolly out of “THE BOY” behind the fast food counter REVEALING how the girls actually see him; as a little boy dressed in adult clothes.
More LED chess pieces before the BREAK.
Fancy speaker cabinet(s) scattered throughout
MASQUERADE. Adds to the dramatic relevance of the piece as we steadily cut back to them BOOMING.
Tungsten and fresnel lighting set-ups throughout
MASQUERADE. Our set-ups are a tad lighter with various representative color tones
strewn throughout.
Fancy DJ booth as depicted in the MASQUERADE.

Example of Bad Ass chick as portrayed by the HerStory trio.
Wardrobe idea for performance silhouette scene.
"The Boy" as the trio views him
at the climax of the piece.
Execution-This flick will require a few key visual effects in an effort to best represent the story elements. 1) Glass slowly breaks on hardwood floor next to “The Boy’s” head as he is featured seemingly levitating above the ground, yet in all actuality, is slowly falling [OVERCRANK 120FPS]. 2)_ Asia tosses phone as the item slowly approaches the audience [rack off of subject to phone gliding slowly through air]. 3) Vibrating speakers as we dolly in to the smoldering beat. 4). Breaking l.e.d. chess pieces. A super over-cranked view of chess pieces falling slowly and breaking on the floor upon contact.
